Chargers State of Mind

Right now, the San Diego Chargers should be proud of themselves.  They gave an extraordinary effort in the attempts to comeback from what was taken away from them.  This type of loss can have a dwindling effect on the entire team.  This will not happen to this team.  We saw the change in attitude after the loss at home against the Falcons.  They went into Kansas City and brought it to the Chiefs.

This team, OUR CHARGERS will not fold under the pressure.  Take this as a learning experience and move forward.  WE can close out games.  WE can dominate games.  This team is capable of beating any team in the league.  Unless the NFL has its say like last game.  Screw You NFL and your little boy toy Drew Brees.  And your lil Tom Brady too.  Just ranting and venting from all the hype these bastards get.

This week we get to take revenge on the NFL by after its ageless wonder, Peyton Manning and the Denver Donkies on MNF.  Will we see a team with fire in there eyes…YES!  The Chargers own Peyton Manning and especially now he is a Bronco.  This will not be an easy game, it never is with Manning at QB.  This team will come firing on all cylinders to get after him and get back to the Winners platform.

The offense took major steps forward seeing improvements from what were expected to be big contributors.  Robert Meachum and Ryan Mathews had great games.  The sky is the limit if we are able to keep our offense rolling.  The O-line played great until that last play.  Jared Gaither was a little dinged up but should be good to go for this game.

The addition of Jarret Johnson has had a tremendous impact on our team.  His leadership and toughness are clearly present.  We are fighting harder than in years past.

My biggest concern….Ours CB’s.  Cason is really have a rough time out there.  Jammer is too.  They are getting beat too often now.  Thats not good football.  We can not leave them out on an island.  They are not those type of CB’s.  The front 7 has to get to the QB to give them some form of support.

This is a must Win.  Sitting at 3-2 instead of 4-1 hurts.  The division is now very close this early in the season.  MNF the lights will be shining on the Q.  The spotlight will be on us as we take out the Aging Wonder and his donkies as they try to comeback from their own beat down.

Not under the National Microscope…

The year is 2012.  The first in the last many that the San Diego Chargers are not picked to be one of the better teams this year.  All the attention in the AFC West has shifted to the Denver Broncos.   The football GOD has relocated to Denver.  His name is Peyton Manning.  The talking heads on ESPN, NFL Network all believe he will be the Peyton of old.  Old is right.  No one knows how his body will react to his first sack.  Are his nerve’s healing as they should?  Last year, Denver scraped by in the second half of the season.  Their good luck charm is gone.  Jesus has been traded to the NY Jets.  The defense is suspect.  Who are their standout receivers?  Eric Decker is not gonna beat you.  Thomas is not focused.  Ronnie Hillman may help out.  Outside of them, I dont know who they have nor do I want to.

The Kansas City Chiefs deserve more respect in my opinion.  Yes I’m a loyal Charger fan but the Chiefs play hard under Romeo Crennel.   Plus some big name stars are coming back from big injuries this year.   The only downfall of the Chiefs is their QB.  Matt Cassel is not a franchise QB.  He is a second stringer riding the waves of a starting QB for too long.  They change that and we have a very dangerous team/rival.

The Oakland Raiders have changed as well.  They have started the decent into oblivion.  Why they got rid of Tom Cable is beyond me.  They played for him.  They play harder against us than any other team under Cable.  I’m not hearing anything positive from the grapevine about the Raiders.  This is a brand new era of leadership, it may take some time for them to figure out who they are and what they want to be Identity wise.

Now…onto my beloved San Diego Chargers.  The past few years have been lead with hype up the wazoo about this team making a Super Bowl run.  I’m tired of all that hype.  We certainly have not eared it….EVER.   2006 and 2007 have been are best chances of bringing the Lombardi to San Diego.  Every year has seen our Chargers learn a new lesson in football.  A new way to lose.  I hate admitting this.  The last 2 seasons we have found new ways to lose.  Setting new lows in the NFL history books for 3rd down defense.  The many reasons I’ve heard in defense of that doesnt matter.  The fact is history never lies.

New year, New energy.  Out with the old, in with the new.  The new being a whole new approach to this season.  A.J. Smith has gone out of his norm and picked up good players to fill the holes and more.  Finding good backups as backups.  Bringing in tough players with experience in big games.  Hard workers willing to fight to win.  This is the deepest roster I have seen on this team in years.  The battles for starting roles will be fun to watch.  Expect big improvement on offense.  Thats hard to say for the Chargers who are one of the better Offense’s in the NFL.  We now have a new weapons at every skill position.

The National media has stated that losing Vincent Jackson is going to hurt us.  WRONG.  It made us much better.  Free’d up some big money to make moves in several area’s instead of one.  He took games off.  The tape doesn’t lie.

Mike Tolbert who was loved in San Diego left because of California’s economy.  I have no ill will towards that.  Thats just funny.  He may not be that big of a role in Carolina as he did in Chargertown.  Hey Tubby, if you read this, “We loved you man”.

The Chargers still may not be getting national attention now but we sure will be by the end of the season.  As of right now, we have 5 nationally televised games.  They will see what this team is all about.  This town, this team, this year will be ours for the taking.
