Chargers State of Mind

Right now, the San Diego Chargers should be proud of themselves.  They gave an extraordinary effort in the attempts to comeback from what was taken away from them.  This type of loss can have a dwindling effect on the entire team.  This will not happen to this team.  We saw the change in attitude after the loss at home against the Falcons.  They went into Kansas City and brought it to the Chiefs.

This team, OUR CHARGERS will not fold under the pressure.  Take this as a learning experience and move forward.  WE can close out games.  WE can dominate games.  This team is capable of beating any team in the league.  Unless the NFL has its say like last game.  Screw You NFL and your little boy toy Drew Brees.  And your lil Tom Brady too.  Just ranting and venting from all the hype these bastards get.

This week we get to take revenge on the NFL by after its ageless wonder, Peyton Manning and the Denver Donkies on MNF.  Will we see a team with fire in there eyes…YES!  The Chargers own Peyton Manning and especially now he is a Bronco.  This will not be an easy game, it never is with Manning at QB.  This team will come firing on all cylinders to get after him and get back to the Winners platform.

The offense took major steps forward seeing improvements from what were expected to be big contributors.  Robert Meachum and Ryan Mathews had great games.  The sky is the limit if we are able to keep our offense rolling.  The O-line played great until that last play.  Jared Gaither was a little dinged up but should be good to go for this game.

The addition of Jarret Johnson has had a tremendous impact on our team.  His leadership and toughness are clearly present.  We are fighting harder than in years past.

My biggest concern….Ours CB’s.  Cason is really have a rough time out there.  Jammer is too.  They are getting beat too often now.  Thats not good football.  We can not leave them out on an island.  They are not those type of CB’s.  The front 7 has to get to the QB to give them some form of support.

This is a must Win.  Sitting at 3-2 instead of 4-1 hurts.  The division is now very close this early in the season.  MNF the lights will be shining on the Q.  The spotlight will be on us as we take out the Aging Wonder and his donkies as they try to comeback from their own beat down.

Chargers Win…Great Team Victory!!!

The Chargers vs. Chiefs was a great game.   It had us all sucked in right away.  It left us gasping for air at times.  I never felt safe when we had the 20-0 lead.  I knew the recent history of the Chiefs.  They find ways to stay in the game and fight back.

The Chargers let them back in…temporarily.  We never took the finishing blow we all want to see.  It’s like they took the gas off a lil bit.  The put the pressure on when they needed too.  Thats not enough as a Charger fan.  I wanna see them go for the jugular.  Take the air out of them and keep stomping away til they never want to come back for a breathe.

Norv and the coaching staff made some adjustments and they worked.  Having Jared Gaither back was great.  He played like someone who has missed some time.  He did play better than Mike Harris has tho.  Having him back has given our O-line a nice revamping of attitude and toughness we need there.  Everything else was just brilliant.

Let’s start with talking about Jackie Battle in the starting RB spot.  I liked it.  In fact, I LOVED IT!  Nothing against Ryan Mathews.  He will be our future starting RB.  This is what was best for the team.  Battle is bigger, stronger, a better up hill runner.  Plus he doesn’t have the fumbling shadow hovering over him.  Mathews does however.  This was good for Mathews.  He did not need to be rushed back into the starting roll of the line up.  That pressure to perform probably got to Mathews head.  Fumbling is between the ears anyways.  Battle is battle tested and proved to be a viable asset when called upon.  Plus going against his former team was a big factor for him.  Mathews has all the skills that a feature RB should have.  This way was perfect.  It takes some of the pressure off of Mathews mentally.  Battle hitting the defense early and often was great for setting up Mathews later in the game.

Rivers to Meachum.  Rivers to Meachum.  Am I the only one who see’s that this is not happening yet.  Maybe at all.  They are not in sync.  Rivers has at least 2 INT’s throwing to Meachum.  This was all RIvers fault this last INT.  The bigger picture still is…They have zero chemistry together.  At least that is what is showing up on game day.   Rivers tried to force a throw that was not there.  Not even close for Meachum to be open.  It does not bother me at all if Meachum does not turn into the #1 WR they thought he could be.  It’s clear to everyone that Malcolm Floyd is our man.  Rivers and Meachum clearly need more time to mesh together to create a force on the other side of the field.

DEFENSE!!! DEFENSE!!!  They played great.  They did not play the best they could have, but non the less, this was the best defensive performance this year thus far.  6 turnovers.  Thats how you win ball games.  The front 7 played nasty, mean, aggressive, ferocious. They got after the QB.  Cassel never had to much time to pick us apart.   Donald Butler is turning into a stud at LB.  He is making play after play.  Weddle and Bigby played fantastic.  As long as both of those guys are healthy and able to run wild back there, this D will be solid.  My biggest concern is the play of our CB’s. Cason had a rough going at times.  Looked like he took some snaps off mentally.  Stupid mistakes will give teams opportunities to come back.  Those can bite us in the arse.  We don’t want that.  He did make some plays tho to his credit.   I am a big fan of you Mr. Jammer.  Jammer seems to be getting worse with age.  He has forgotten to look for the ball all over again.   The coach’s need to be on him about his inability to make a play at the ball.

A win is a win.  I love how this team went cross country for a great WIN.  I love how we fought back hard to earn this Victory.  The addition of toughness to this team is clearly making its presence known.  Keep this up and we will have a great season ahead of us.

Go Chargers!!! Bolt Up San Diego and be proud of our Chargers.  They have earned it this week.  Next up…On to New Orleans for Sunday Night Football.
